Matthew Whiteshield is a Captain with the Margate Fire Department. With over two decades of experience in the Margate Fire Department, he has a wealth of knowledge and unwavering commitment to serving the community.
During his time with the fire department, he has established the Margate Firefighters Benevolent Association and has been the president for over 13 years.
With a strong background in EMS education, he has served as a Lead Paramedic Instructor for over 20+ years and has experience as an EMS Program Director.
His dedication extends to vehicle extrication where he held the position of Team Medic and Team Captain. During his time on the team he earning accolades as "Best Lead Medic" in Regional competition. Throughout his career, he has also received numerous accolades as Firefighter of the Month. He was also recognized as Firefighter of the Year in 2018 for his life-saving actions off-duty.
He earned a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Leadership from St. Thomas University.
Whiteshield is happily married to Natalia, who serves as a Fire Inspector with Oakland Park Fire Rescue. Together, they are proud parents to an amazing daughter named Mackenzie. In addition, Whiteshield is also a loving father to two distinguished young men, Cooper and Gavan.
Whiteshield attributes his numerous accomplishments to the unwavering support and love he receives from his family. Their encouragement has been the driving force behind his success.
